COOS BAY, Ore. -- An orchestra made up of local musicians is gearing up for its debut next month.

The South Coast Dance Orchestra will make its debut the second weekend in June.

26 musicians came together and have practiced six months in preparation for the show.

The debut weekend will also feature a barn dance.

"As a musician I love being able to play for dancers,” says Jennifer Sordy. “It really is exciting when we can make small adjustments to the sounds of the music, get a little louder, or express it differently and everybody goes, ‘whoohoo,' and they start tapping their feet and swinging each other around. It's really great."

The dance is on June 10. The concert on June 11.
