Parents accused of selling heroin alongside baby in stroller in downtown Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. -- A couple is facing drug and child neglect charges after being caught selling heroin in downtown Portland, alongside their 7-month-old baby.
Portland Police were patroling downtown for drug dealers when they spotted a couple with a child in a stroller possibly dealing drugs at SW 10th Avenue and Yamhill Street.
After searching the couple, officers found the couple had been carrying packaged heroin, and had stored various drug paraphernalia inside a diaper bag.
Emanuel Rivera, 28, and Brittany Jones, 22, were arrested on charges of child neglect, deliver of heroin and possession of heroin.
Their 7-month-old daughter who was in a stroller during the arrest has been placed in protective custody.
