14 pounds of meth seized in Douglas County traffic stop

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Three occupants in a Honda pulled over by Oregon State Police troopers in Douglas County were arrested after drugs were found in the car, police said.

Around 7 p.m. Saturday, August 19, a trooper stopped a 2008 Honda passenger car for a traffic violation on Interstate 5 northbound near milepost 95 in Douglas County.

During the stop, police said indicators of criminal activity were observed and a search of the vehicle was requested.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed approximately 14 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in packages hidden within the vehicle, the report said.

The three occupants of the vehicle, 27-year-old Uriel Bernardino-Cano, 21-year-old Joseline Hernandez-Aguilar, and 19-year-old Miriam Hernandez-Aguilar were lodged at the Douglas County Jail for unlawful possession of methamphetamine and unlawful delivery of methamphetamine.

OSP said the investigation is ongoing.

Miriam and Joseline Hernandez-Aguilar are from Mexico and Bernardino-Cano is from California, police said.
