Body found on North Spit

Coos Bay, Ore.- The body of a man was found a quarter mile from the North Spit Sunday.

Coos County Sheriff's deputies recovered the badly decomposed body of a man around 6:30 pm.

Four geocachers found the body floating in the water while kayaking.

The body was found only half a mile from where 59-year-old Wyman "Wade" Weathersby went missing after leaving his home to go for a walk on the beach.

"We won't know until the autopsy but it could be Mr. Weathersby that went missing in February," Detective Sgt. Daniel Looney with the Coos County Sheriff said.

Deputies do not know how long the body was in the water.

The body was taken to the medical examiners office for an autopsy.

UPDATE- The Coos County Medical Examiner has determined that the body was was Wyman "Wade" Weathersby.

They concluded there was no foul play involved.
