Center gets much needed donation
COOS BAY, Ore. -- The Women's Safety and Resource Center in Coos Bay creates a safe haven for victims of domestic abuse in Coos County, and they have just received a very generous donation that will help the people they serve.
Ocean Crest Assisted Living residents came together to donate money and supplies, and Jennifer Jones, the Ocean Crest activities director, says they came up with quite a bit. "Throughout all the things that we've gathered, we came up with $1,785 worth of things," she said.
Lynda Kristoffersen with the resource center says it will help the people they serve with much needed basic supplies. "This will help women with basic things like pillows and blankets, sheets, towels, all the things that are fairly expensive that they would have problems getting," she said.
"With what was donated today, I would say that's probably going to help 25 women and their families," Lynda said.
Representatives say all donations are greatly appreciated and will go to a good home.
