Chainsaw Carving Championships brings carvers from around the world to Reedsport
REEDSPORT, Ore. -- The Chainsaw Carving Championships is underway in Reedsport.
40 carvers from all over the country and world were hard at work Friday.
This year's competition includes carvers from Uganda, Japan and Germany.
During the four-day event, carvers work on quick pieces and the main show pieces will be judged on Sunday.
Some spectators from overseas are catching the competition for the very first time.
"We saw this was happening; we were very excited because we don't have anything like this at home,” said Emma Baker. “So we decided to come along and it is awesome. I think they're incredibly talented and I really wanna have a go. That's what I think…I wish I had a chainsaw."
The Chainsaw Carving Championships started Thursday and will through Sunday at Rainbow Plaza in Reedsport.
Admission is $5 a day.
