NORTH BEND, Ore. -- The North Bend School District has canceled classes for all schools on Wednesday, April 11, after investigating a school threat.

According to North Bend Police Department, a school resource officer was notified Tuesday afternoon by North Bend Middle School that graffiti had been reported earlier in the day.

The graffiti said, "school shooting tomorrow...BE READY!!!"

Police say the graffiti was found on a bathroom stall wall in the sixth grade girls bathroom.

The student who noticed the graffiti reported it to a substitute teacher who then reported it to school administration.

NBPD attempted to identify witnesses and track down the suspect. "Multiple witnesses have been interviewed, but none witnessed the writing of the threat," NBPD said, adding that multiple hours of video of the hallways outside the restroom have been reviewed.

"Every identifiable lead is being pursued," police said, "but the writer has not yet been identified."

Police advised the North Bend School District of the investigation's status and the district decided to cancel classes for all North Bend schools Wednesday.

"Our children's safety is our top priority," North Bend police Department said in a news release.

Anyone with information is asked to contact NBPD at (541) 756-3161.
