Coast Guard rescues four people off coast of Coos Bay
NORTH BEND, Ore. - According to a Facebook post made by the U.S. Coast Guard Sector North Bend, a water rescue was performed to save four people outside of Coos Bay on Saturday.
The four people were in danger after their 18-foot vessel overturned, and they had to be rescued by a rescue swimmer who was lowered to the water to assist. One survivor was suffering from hypothermia.
Two of the survivors were reportedly pulled from the cold waters by Good Samaritans, while the other two held onto the stern of a pleasure craft until Coast Guard boat crews arrived on scene.
All mariners were last reported to be in good health following the incident.
