A fishing vessel is overturned Wednesday, March 23, 2016, in the channel of Coos Bay near the bar just out of Charleston, Ore. Reports indicate that three fishermen were able to escape and were taken to the Charleston Marinal but one remained trapped in the overturned boat. Only the stern section was left out of the water. COOS BAY, Ore. - It has been two weeks since the Patty AJ capsized near the Coos Bay bar and the body of the boat's captain is still trapped inside.

Coast Guard Coos Bay Station Commander Kary Moss says safety hazards have prevented the rescue dive team from recovering Jerry Barkely's remains.

The Patty AJ was brought to the surface last week but the boat is still sitting at the side of the channel.

Moss says the commercial salvage team is still working on a way to remove the boat.

A plan is currently being reviewed by the Coast Guard Sector Colombia River.
