Coos Bay celebrates National Train Day Saturday at Coos Historical Railway
COOS BAY, Ore. -- If you're looking to get out this weekend, Saturday is the National Train Day celebration in Coos Bay.
The Coos Historical Railway will have a lot on display at the event, including steam and diesel engines as well as three cabooses.
Organizers say there's a lot to look forward to at this year's event.
"On Train Day we're going to have ice cream, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizzas and ice cream,” Coos Historical Railway’s Dick Jamsgard explains. “The ice cream will cost you a dollar but the other food will be free. We hope to have lots of people, lots food, lots of fun. There will be little treats for the kids and all that, lots of new merchandise came in - new shirts and hats and things we didn't have before."
The Oregon Coast Historical Railway will celebrate Coos County Train Day 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the group's museum on 1st Street in Coos Bay.
