Coos Bay City Council to hold public hearing on appeal of Empire Pacific Motel conversion

COOS BAY, Ore. -- The Coos Bay City Council has announced it will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 26 for the purpose of an appeal of Conditional Use Permit #187-ZON18-007 regarding the conversion of the Empire Pacific Motel (155 S Empire Blvd) into a residential rehabilitation facility to provide transitional housing, counseling treatment, and recovery services for substance use clients, which was denied by the Planning Commission on May 8, 2018.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 500 Central Avenue.

The hearing is open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.

Written testimony may be filed with the Community Development Department prior to the hearings and will be considered at the time of the hearing.

The final decision by the City Council may be appealed to the Land Use Board of Appeals..
