COOS BAY, Ore. -- Safety concerns over the Coos Bay Boardwalk were up for discussion at the last Coos Bay City Council meeting.

Coos Bay resident Mark Gillis addressed the council and spoke about recent crime in the area where he lives.

He said that while living on the boardwalk is wonderful, there are some issues the City needs to address.

"The main problem we're having right now is with people coming in and trying to see what they can take,” Gillis said, “and we have our homes just like everybody else. Nobody wants their homes robbed. And that's why I'm asking them to take measures that would give us more security."

Councilors said they would look into the complaints and try to find a solution.
