Coos County Sheriff's Office ramps up St. Patrick's Day patrols
COQUILLE, Ore. -- The Coos County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting DUII saturation patrols on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17.
"These patrols, funded through a grant program from the Oregon Department of Transportation and administered by the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association will have deputies patrolling the roads and highways of Coos County in search of those who operate a motor vehicle under the influence," the sheriff's office said Tuesday morning.
They say intoxicants can mean alcoholic beverages, recreational marijuana, illegal narcotics or prescription medications, to name a few.
"Remember, buzzed driving is drunk driving, and please have designated sober drivers."
