Crews knock down house fire on Red Dike Rd. in Coos Bay

COOS BAY, Ore. -- No injuries were reported after smoked engulfed a house in Coos Bay Wednesday.

Around 9:45 a.m., Coos Bay Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 62823 Red Dike Road.

Firefighters found the house to be heavily involved upon arrival.

The fire was under control within a half hour, officials said.

Crews remained on scene extinguishing hot spots and investigating the cause until 1:30 p.m.

The house was not occupied at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported, the report said.

Coos Bay Fire Department requested mutual aid from North Bend Fire Department and Charleston Fire District. Coos Bay Fire Department was assisted in the investigation by the Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal and the Southwestern Fire Investigation Team.

The cause has yet to be released.
