Day of Caring brings out helping hands
COOS COUNTY, Ore. -- Sunny spring weather usually brings homeowners outside to spruce up the yard, but what if the homeowner is unable to tackle these projects alone?
Over the weekend, some people came out and took care of it.
On Saturday, volunteers came out to support their friends and neighbors in the 5th annual United Way Day of Caring.
200 volunteers weeded, mowed, raked, planted and hauled off bags of garbage and debris.
The Oregon National Guard also participated this year by donating two large trucks and a helping hand.
This annual event assists elderly and disabled who need a little extra help with yard work.
