Downtown Coos Bay stores hold weekend event for missing hunter's family
COOS BAY, Ore. -- Multiple stores in downtown Coos Bay are joining together to help the family of a missing Coos Bay man.
Father and husband Shawn Higgins went missing during a hunting trip in Curry County six months ago.
This weekend Katrina Kathleen’s, Checkerberry's Flowers and Gifts, Canard Labs, Tru Furniture and Truffles are hosting Shop for a Cause Day this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A portion of all event proceeds will go to the Higgins family.
"The memorial is coming up soon so it kind of brought it back to the surface for us and we decided to have this community event to raise money,” explained Tru Furniture owner Brittaney Pingree, “to just help them with everyday expenses whatever they need."
Tru Furniture is also raffling off a desk with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the family.
Raffle tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Tru.
