EUGENE, Ore. - Voters cast ballots in a special election Tuesday, deciding everything from street repairs to public safety to money for schools.


Election results are not final. The following numbers represent where the vote stands as of: 8:15 p.m.

Top races in Western Oregon include:

Eugene Street Repair Bond

City seeks a renewal of street repair bond. Voters approved similar measures in 2008 and 2012 to fund street repairs.

Yes: 62%

No: 38%

Douglas County Home Rule

The Home Rule Charter would replace the three full-time, salaried county commissioners with five part-time commissioners paid by a stipend.

Yes: 24%

No: 76%

Springfield Jail & Police Levy

City of Springfield seeks an increase in tax levy to cover costs of operating the municipal jail and police department.

Yes: 68%

No: 32%

Creswell Marijuana Businesses

Measure would allow recreational marijuana sales in portions of town.

Yes: 15%

Coos Bay School bond

Coos Bay School District #9 seeks nearly $60 million to construct new schools and upgrade existing facilities.
