NORTH BEND, Ore. -- Are you ready to rock? The Gem and Mineral Show is returning to the bay area this weekend.

This will mark the 55th year for the annual event, and the public is invited to see gemstones and rough and polished rocks on display.

Organizers say among this year’s displays includes a four-carat diamond in the rough from Africa.

"My son and I do shows around the country and we get to meet new people all the time,” says Gem & Mineral Show chairperson Don Innes, “we bring them here and a lot of people come in specifically for this show. Each year new material comes in, so for people that are rock hounds it's interesting to them. Of course, new people are coming in and people buy things for souvenirs."

The show takes place at the North Bend Community Center this coming weekend.

It runs Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5p.m., and Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
