Good kitty! One-eyed Sir Stuffington raises thousands for foster pets
PORTLAND, Ore. - Good kitty.
Sir Stuffington, the one-eyed kitten who gained online fame two weeks ago, has helped raise over $3,000 in donations for other foster animals.
Sir Stuffington was brought to a Multnomah County Animal Services on Sept. 13.
Blazer Schaffer, who decided to foster the homeless cat, dressed him up like a pirate and launched a fan page on Facebook, which has more than 42,000 likes.
The kitten was brought in with three of its siblings. All three had physical problems; Sir Stuffington also has a disfigured jaw.
"Community support like the foster parenting program is a huge part of the great gains we've had at Animal Services in our live release rates for cats and dogs,'' said animal services director Mike Oswald. "Sir Stuffington shows how much difference any one person can make, through fostering, adopting, volunteering or donating."
Professional photos of Sir Stuffington are available, with proceeds benefiting a fund that helps pay for extra medical care for animals that require it.
