COOS BAY, Ore. -- Fathers won't be the only ones celebrated this weekend.

The Human Rights Advocates of Coos County will be hosting a Men's Day Celebration on Saturday.

Participants can enter a writing competition describing the most influential man in their lives.

Winners will be announced in November on International Men's Day.

“This celebrates all men, not just fathers who get celebrated on Father's Day, but just the principles of being a strong man in our world today,” said Dittan Dugan with Human Rights Advocates of Coos County.

The Men's Day Celebration on Saturday is at the Cedar Room in the Coos Bay Library from 1-3 p.m.
