Lane County seizes 8 horses from Creswell-area property, cites owner for animal neglect
CRESWELL, Ore. - Lane County Animal Services seized eight horses from a property near Creswell Thursday.
Officers cited the owner, Genni Walker, on eight counts of animal neglect in the second degree, alleging lack of food in sufficient quantity and quality to maintain a healthy body weight, a Lane County spokesperson said.
The horses - one 8-month-old filly and seven adults - will remain impounded by Lane County until there is a ruling regarding the citations by the Lane County Justice Court, the county said.
The horses will be evaluated by a veterinarian and housed with a rescue agency equipped to care for large animals, the county said.
