Luncheon honors women making a difference
COOS BAY, Ore. -- It's a fundraiser to honor women who make a difference in the lives of children in our community.
This year, some very impressive ladies came out to the Bay Area Women's Luncheon.
The Boys & Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon held a luncheon to celebrate women who are leaders in the community.
Cindy Ball, the president of the club, says they appreciate the women who serve the community. "Our society is one of the few where women can get involved and really make a huge difference, and a huge impact," she said. "It's just a wonderful thing."
The Women Making a Difference Award was given to Charlene Moore of the Coos Bay School Board.
Guests at the lunch got a show worthy of the big-top.
Around 500 women attended this year's luncheon, and their work throughout the community was greatly appreciated.
