Myrtle Creek woman motorcycling to help battle child sex trafficking
MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A Myrtle Creek woman is using her love for motorcycling to spread awareness about child sex trafficking.
Gwen Feero is a special education teacher who is preparing to bike to all four corners of the United States for what she calls the Freedom Ride.
She decided to make the more than 11,000-mile ride after overhearing a sex trafficking conversation in Portland.
"We need to get the word out," Feero says. "This is going on in our backyards in our small communities; even in the big cities it's here; it's happening. And we need to get people more aware of it and try to shut it down."
Feero will start her ride June 19 and will be on the road for a month.
