North Bend murder case headed for March trial

COQUILLE, Ore.-- A man accused of killing a handicapped man at a North Bend motel last July could have his case heard before a jury in March.

Ronald Wayne Ambill is accused of killing David Marion Barker at the Itty Bitty Inn last summer, and the district attorney and Ambill's attorney will go to trial in late March.

Ambill briefly appeared in court Tuesday moring.

Both sides have until the end of November for Ambill to make a plea deal, but according to the court clerk's office, the presiding judge did not make that a firm deadline for both sides to reach a deal.

Ambill's official trial date is March 25th and 9:30 a.m.
