Police: Florida man goes missing on motorcycle tour in Oregon

ROSEBURG, Ore. - Have you seen Matthew Kyle Chapin?

The 31-year-old Lake City, Florida, man was last in contact with family and friends on May 27.

His last known location was near Toketee Falls on Highway 138E in Douglas County the next day around 4:30 p.m., Oregon State Police said Friday.

Police said Chapin has been on a motorcycle tour since mid-April.

His itinerary called for him to travel to Crater Lake before heading to Portland to meet family on June 2.

Authorities in Florida contacted state police in Oregon on Friday for assistance locating Chapin.

Chapin is 6-feet tall and 170 pounds with brown hair. He is believed to be wearing a black helmet, black jacket and blue jeans.

He is riding a black and green 2016 Kawasaki dual sport motorcycle, police said. The motorcycle has a Florida license plate MCPB29.

State troopers and Douglas County search and rescue crews are actively searching the area around Toketee Falls for Chapin.
