PORTLAND, Ore. - Police arrested a Portland man who they said shot another man during a fight over stolen Christmas presents on Saturday.

Martin Luther Hartley faces charges including attempted murder and assault.

Police said Hartley, 44, shot 31-year-old Keytar Donesouda during a fight outside a home in the 3300 block of Northeast 122nd Avenue.

Donesouda arrived at a Portland hospital with a gunshot wound on Saturday night. Sgt. Pete Simpson said the man's injuries were not life-threatening.

During interviews with Donesouda and his girlfriend, Xaykham Chanthavong, police learned the shooting occurred during a fight over stolen Christmas presents.

Police have yet to specify the presents at the heart of the dispute. Nor have they elaborated on the circumstances behind the theft accusation

Hartley and Donesouda knew each other before the shooting, according to Simpson.

Hartley also faces charges of assault, felon in possession of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.

Police also arrested Chanthavong on stolen vehicle charges after they determined the truck she used to drive her boyfriend to the hospital was stolen.
