Police: Portland man arrested in Coos Bay on outstanding warrant, drug possession
COOS BAY, Ore. -- A Portland man pulled over during a Coos Bay traffic stop was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Clackamas County, police said.
Just before 2 a.m. Sunday, Coos County deputies pulled over 35-year-old Portland resident Jessie Hillard for traffic violations near Broadway and Johnson in Coos Bay.
During the stop, deputies learned he had the outstanding arrest warrant for possession of methamphetamine and took him into custody.
He was found in possession of a methamphetamine pipe, which will be sent to the Oregon State Police Crime Lab to be tested, Coos County Sheriff's Office said, adding he was transported to the Coos County Jail and booked.
Hillard will be referred to the Coos County courts for this new arrest and meth possession charge.
Per Clackamas County, Hillard was given a court date to appear in December in their county court system and released on his own recognizance, police said.
