Roseburg Police arrest man for theft, 'trying door handles of vehicles' at local school
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Myrtle Creek man was arrested after police say he fought with an officer after investigating a potential home break-in.
According to a Roseburg Police Department report, 35-year-old Joshua Lee McAnelly was reportedly trying door handles to vehicles at Roseburg High School Saturday morning.
While searching for McAnelly, an officer was flagged down by a resident who reported he tried to get into their house.
McAnelly tried to fight with officer when contacted in the 300 block of W. Birch, police said, but he was eventually taken into custody.
Another citizen reported that her vehicle was also entered at the same time and McAnelly was found to be in possession of her property, the report said.
McAnelly was charged with unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, third degree theft, and second degree criminal trespass .
He was lodged at the Douglas County Jail.
