Sheriff: After arrest, man gets charged for spitting in car
LAKESIDE, Ore. -- A Lakeside man was arrested after a dispute with a neighbor, and then earned himself another charge on the way to jail, the Sheriff's office said.
Deputies say that they were called to a residence in the 500 block of Kings Avenue just after 7:00 pm on Thursday, for a report of a disturbance between neighbors.
When they arrived, they say Joey Van De Hey, 54, and Eric Brierly, 45, had gotten into an argument.
Officials say an investigation into the incident led to the arrest of Van De Hay. He was charged by deputies with fourth degree assault and second degree criminal trespass.
Authorities say that as they were on the way to the Coos County Jail, Van De Hey spit in the back of the patrol car, landing him with an additional charge of third degree criminal mischief.
