Sheriff asks for public's help locating missing man with Alzheimer's
BANDON, Ore. - The sheriff is asking for the public's help locating a 78-year-old man with Alzheimer's who was last seen Thursday afternoon.
Ted Rogers is 5-foot-9, 185 lbs with brown and gray hair; a mustache; brown eyes; and glasses.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, boots and a dark baseball cap with a fish on it.
The sheriff's office got a report just before 8 p.m. Thursday that Rogers was missing from his home on Christopher Lane, northeast of Bandon. He was last confirmed seen at 3:30 p.m. that afternoon.
Sheriff's Deputies and Bandon Police Officers searched the roads around Bandon all evening and through the night.
Search and rescue units started searching at 7 a.m. Friday. He remained missing as of at least 11 a.m. Friday.
The sheriff's office issued a public appeal for help locating Rogers at 1 p.m. Friday.
The sheriff's office said Rogers is in good health and very mobile, having previously walked to Bandon and out to Bullards Beach from his home.
