Sheriff: Lakeside woman arrested, interferes with father's attempt to make police report
LAKESIDE, Ore. -- A Coos County woman was arrested after police say she interfered with her father's attempt to make a police report, Coos County Sheriff's Office reported this week.
Just before 4 p.m. on December 14, Coos County deputies responded to a residence on Spinreel Road in Lakeside for a report of a trespasser.
Deputies say a man at the residence explained his daughter, 43-year-old Heidi Gabbard and her children, had recently been evicted from their residence and had been there for approximately two days before he told her she was not welcome.
The man explained he was allowing his grand children to stay at the residence, but not Gabbard, the report said.
The man said he tried to call the sheriff’s office in the morning but Gabbard took his phone to prevent him from calling, police said.
Deputies found the phone in the bushes outside the window where she was staying, supporting the man’s claims, according to the report.
Heidi Gabbard was arrested for interfering with making a police report and criminal trespass in the first degree.
She was transported to Coos County Jail and lodged. Her bail was set at $20,000.
