Shore Acres ready to light up for the holidays
COOS COUNTY, Ore. -- The holiday light display at Shore Acres Park is in the 27th year.
What started as a dream to light up an already beautiful garden has now become a must see holiday tradition.
The display draws people from around the world to see over 300,000 lights.
David Bridgham says the display was popular from the start. "9,000 people showed up and we knew we had something that was very important for the community, and we've been doing it ever since," he said.
For 40 nights, nearly 1,500 volunters take part in the waterfront wonderland.
The gardens officially open on Thanksgiving night and run until New Years Eve.
