State Police: Inmate walks away from Salem-area facility
SALEM, Ore. -- State Police are asking for your help finding this inmate who walked away from the Mill Creek Correctional Facility in Salem on Saturday.
Staff realized 34-year-old Jerry Teixeira was missing from the facility at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
Teixeira is described as 6'1" tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. he was wearing blue jeans and a blue shirt, both with the word "inmate" stenciled in orange.
Investigators said they believe Teixeira drove away from the facility with 27-year-old Lacy Evans.
Evans is 6' tall with short blonde hair and noticeable tattoos on her chest.
Teixeira was initially booked in October, 2013 on burglary, delivery and possession of meth, and "felon in possession of a firearm" charges for crimes committed in Marion County. His earliest release date would have been September 5, 2015.

From Oregon State Police: Mill Creek Correctional Facility (MCCF) is a minimum-security prison located five miles southeast of Salem that houses approximately 280 inmates who are within four years of release. It primarily provides education and work opportunities for adults in custody.
