COOS BAY, Ore. -- A disaster relief drive is being organized to help those people affected by the Chetco Bar Fire.

The Southwestern Oregon Community College Vet Club and Operation Rebuild Hope are hosting a disaster relief drive Monday, Sept. 11, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They are looking for anything that will help, including sleeping bags and blankets for the victims.

You can drop off items Monday near the SWOCC bookstore in parking lot #1.

The donations will be delivered to the Chetco Fire shelter in Gold Beach on Wednesday.

"We see the smoke here in Coos Bay every day, and I know that might be an annoyance for some people, so you imagine how much worse it is down there,” says Patrick Wright with Operation Rebuild Hope, “so bringing them some kind of comfort, maybe clothes, or maybe some kids toys or stuffed animals, stuff like that, it's going to make a huge impact in their life."
