Top-ranked Marshfield wrestling falls to defending state champ Crook County

COOS BAY, Ore. -- Thursday night, the Marshfield Pirates hosted 4A defending state champ Crook County cowboys in wrestling.

The Pirates entered the match-up ranked first but fell to the 2nd-ranked Cowboys 33-29 in the dual.

Marshfield actually won 8 of the 14 matches but Crook County came out on top in bonus points, giving them the victory.

The Pirates have a quick turnaround; they’re participating in a two-day tournament beginning Friday night (Dec. 9) at North Bend High School.
