Volunteers help veterans in need
COOS BAY, Ore. - Volunteers met veterans at the National Guard Armory to help the men and women who served our country.
"There are a lot of homeless veterans that seem to be lost in the system, and we're just trying to reach out to them and let them know we care and bring all these service providers together for them," said Heather Partipilo.
The veterans were offered basic health care services, and there was a dentist on site.
"There are services out there and educating them about all of the benefits that they may not know they are eligible for," Partipilo said.
Veterans also recieved packs with hygene products, shoes and warm clothes.
"There are a lot of veterans out here that do need some help and unfortunately, I happen to be one of them," said Marine Corps veteran Jim Grayson.
