PORTLAND, Ore. - "Naughty" costumes have become as much a part of Halloween as trick-or-treating and smoke machines.
But naughty costumes for 2-year-olds?
Walmart is selling a "Naughty Leopard" costume for 2-year-old girls, replete with cabaret sparkles and black lace.
"I don't know, it's a little bit ... it's excessive," said Katie, the mother of a 3-year-old named Claire, who asked that their last name not be published. "I would not buy it for her."
The costume is also available at walmart.com - but with a different name. The website calls it "Leopard child Halloween costume."
"It was never our intention to offend anyone and we apologize to any of our customers who may have been offended by the name of the costume," said Walmart spokeswoman Danit Marquardt.
Another mother, Shalene, said she had no problem with the costume itself.
The name, on the other hand?
"The outfit itself is cute, but naughty leopard doesn't sound like something a kid should be wearing," she said.
