Winston mayor arrested, charged with online sexual corruption of minor
MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. -- A Winston man has been arrested and charged with sex and weapons crimes, Myrtle Creek Police confirmed early Monday morning.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's office booking log, 71-year-old Kenneth Lewis Barrett was arrested in the 200 block of Johnson Street in Myrtle Creek around 8:40 p.m. Sunday.
The listed charges are second-degree online sexual corruption of a minor and unlawful possession and concealment of firearms, according to the sheriff's office.
Barrett is the current mayor of Winston.
KPIC contacted Myrtle Creek Police and confirmed the arrest details. Department officials said more information will be released later Monday morning.
