Wood are exhibition at Coos Art Museum highlights local talent
COOS BAY, Ore. -- There's a different kind of exhibit at the Coos Art Museum featuring everything from bowls to furniture.
The wood exhibition at the Art Museum is organized by the South Coast Woodworkers.
They say the exhibit highlights local talent and features pieces of furniture and turned wood.
A lot of the pieces are made from native wood, some found in places like Silver Falls, and turned into works of art.
"We had a display about a year and a half ago here and it turned out to be so good that everybody wanted to have it again,” said John Muenchrath with South Coast Woodworkers. “They can expect to see what we've done - from the raw piece of wood to turning it into something we think is beautiful."
You can see the exhibition at the Coos Art Museum from now until February 17, 2018.
