'You gotta come have the alligator sausage': More than just crawdads at annual festival
LAKESIDE, Ore. – Lakeside will get a taste of the south on Mother’s Day weekend during the annual Crawdad Festival.
The 2017 event will mark the 10th time the festival has been held in Lakeside.
The crawdads come from Louisiana for the festival, which draws thousands for the food and live music.
The family friendly event also includes games, craft vendors and artists.
“It's a fun event. It gets people into Lakeside, beautiful park outdoor setting family fun. If you don't want to eat crawdads we have normal foods too that seems to be a thing, but we also have alligator sausage which is on everybody's bucket list so you gotta come have the alligator sausage,” said Sheli Roe from the Lakeside Chamber of Commerce.
The Crawdad Festival is May 12 through May 145 at Tenmile Lake County Park.
