Cran-tastic! Bandon hosts 67th Cranberry Festival this weekend
BANDON, Ore. - Thousands of people will flood the streets of Old Town for the 67th annual Cranberry Festival this weekend.
"It's a celebration of our cranberry harvest," said Julie Miller with the Bandon Chamber of Commerce. "Cranberries are the agricultural crop of our community."
Bandon has worked hard to keep this festival going strong for decades..
"Bandon is just steeped in tradition," Miller said, "and when you're in a small town, we rely on each other and it's just - history."
That history is about to repeat itself.
"We have music, we have a beer garden, tons of arts and crafts booths," Miller said. "It's really just the epitome of small town fun."
And showing up with an appetite might be a good idea.
"Whoever wins the cranberry eating contests gets two free tickets on SeaPort airlines to go anywhere they'd like to go," Miller said.
