District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray was confident last week that he'd win his wager with Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, even though Gray had to fly another city's flag as recently as October, when the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Washington Nationals in the MLB playoffs.
But obviously, things didn't turn out so well for the other Washington. The Seahawks beat the Redskins 24-14 on Sunday and McGinn won his bet with Gray.
As a result, the Emerald City's flag has been raised - for one day - over D.C.'s John A. Wilson Building. The Wilson building houses the executive offices and council chambers of the District of Columbia.
If the Seahawks had lost, a D.C. banner exclaiming "Taxation Without Representation" would have flown over Seattle City Hall for a day, DCist reports.
