Saquon Barkley, future 1st round pick, wants to potentially become the face of the NFL
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Former Penn State running back Saquon Barkley was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated ahead of the NFL draft.
Sports Illustrated's Ben Baskin traveled with Barkley and his family back to his former home in the Bronx and met with his agency, Roc Nation.
According to Baskin, Barkley is creating a plan to become the face of a franchise or even the entire NFL. He also spoke about the recent vision he had on playing for the Cleveland Browns.
"For the last few weeks he [Barkley] has told close friends about a vision he has. He believes that if he brings a championship to the Land, as LeBron did, he’ll be hailed as the best athlete of his generation and have a statue built in his honor," wrote Baskin.
A NFL talent evaluator calls Barkley the best player in the draft.
Barkley is a consensus top 5 pick in the NFL's upcoming selection process, with recent mock drafts having him going to the New York Giants. The NFL draft starts Thursday April 27.
