After a venue change, Bandon Dunes nabs large amateur golf tourney
BANDON, Ore. -- A change in venue is bringing one of the biggest amateur golf tournaments to Oregon’s south coast.
Bandon Dunes will host the 2019 US Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
The Dunes replaces Chambers Bay in Washington, which is undergoing a turf-grass transition project.
The tournament, which takes place in May of 2019, will feature 128 two-player teams.
"Community involvement is so important to the success of the championships,” says Michael Chupka, director of communications. “The community have been so embracing of the USGA and the championships that have come here to the resort, and it's really an all-hands-on-deck experience for not only the resort and our staff, but also the south coast in general."
The 2019 Amateur Four-Ball Championship is May 25-29.
