Boise State says it's dropping its wrestling program, the school announced Tuesday.

"This was not an easy decision, but one that needed to be made as we consider the long-term vision for Bronco athletics," said Curt Apsey, director of athletics. "We will continue to honor the scholarships we provide our student-athletes, and will do all we can to help those who want to continue their collegiate wrestling careers elsewhere."

The university says it made the decision to "better align its programs with the Mountain West" conference.

While it will drop wrestling, the school says it will purse adding baseball to its lineup, however, no timeline was given.
