'More than a history lesson, I want them to walk away as a fan of old time radio.'
SUTHERLIN, Ore. - With a turn of a dial, a museum in Sutherlin is allowing visitors to go back in time.
The "Radio Days, 'Theater of the Mind' Museum" on Central Avenue in Sutherlin takes you back decades to explore the history of radio archives.
"Memorabilia from the 1930's, 40's and 50's. It's not really a broadcast museum," said Dennis Wright, the Executive Director of the museum. "These were mementos that the kids would send in for back in the day when they listen to the radio shows."
People can stop by, have a coffee and step back into a different era. The museum looks to give people a meaningful experience.
"More than a history lesson, I want them to walk away as a fan of old time radio," said Wright.
You can stop in at the museum from Wednesday to Saturday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
