Oregon State coaches reflect on turn around this season
CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Oregon State coaches say they are using this week to correct mistakes from the Civil War loss, but it's also a time for them to reflect back on the season as a whole.
With a win against Nicholls State, the Beavers will have gone from 3-9 to 9-3 in just one year.
"I think that the real work done was starting in January, by this team physically," says Mike Riley. "A commitment to go work hard. There were some good players, but obviously we were coming off a 3-9, something had to change."
"Even from last off season, there's been a good focus on the work, the detail and the getting better," says offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf. "That's kind of been our motto. I think it's proven from going 3-9 to now 8-3. That's a big jump, a big turn around, and that's a credit to our guys for the work they put in during the off season."
After losing to Sacramento State last season, the Beavers are taking nothing for granted, but Nicholls State enters the game with just a 1-9 record.
