COOS BAY, Ore. - A pickup truck crashed into a van from behind on Highway 101 as the driver of the van waited to turn left Tuesday afternoon, Oregon State Police said.

The pickup then crashed into a Jeep Cherokee.

The crash sent all 3 drivers to the hospital. The driver of the pickup was taken by helicopter to OHSU in Portland with serious injuries; the other two drivers were taken to Bay Area Hospital.

The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. on Hwy 101 near Colina Lane.

State police say a Direct TV service van driven by Jeris Doyle, 41, of Coos Bay was stopped in the northbound lane, waiting for traffic to clear so he could turn left onto Colina Lane.

That's when a 1992 GMC pickup driven by Zachardy Story, 20, of Coos Bay crashed into the back of the van.

The pickup then collided with a 1995 Cherokee driven by Robert Storie, 35, of North Bend.

Medics took Doyle and Storie to Bay Area Hospital. They are expected to survive their injuries.

Story was taken by helicopter from Bay Area Hospital to OHSU in Portland with serious injuries.
