COOS BAY, Ore. -- The Annual Family Fun Day celebration is coming back to Coos Bay.

The day will be packed with family-friendly activities like free fishing for kids, face painting, a BBQ lunch and a one-mile walk and 5K run.

The free event is hosted by the Kids’ Hope Center.

"The goal of Family Fun Day is just to provide a venue, a space, and an event that helps families have fun together,” explains Kid’s Hope Center program director Joanne Shorb. “As a child abuse intervention center for the county, when we see families they're often in a state of crisis, and it's not a lot of fun when they come to our building, so what we want to do is give something back to the community."

Registration for the run starts Saturday, April 28 at 8:15 a.m.

The 15th Family Fun Day is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at John Topits Park in Coos Bay.
