Camps at Coos Bay Lagoon: Upscale RV and cabin park coming to bay area
COOS BAY, Ore. -- For those who want to have a place near the water, a new development might be what they're looking for.
An upscale RV and cabin park in coming to Coos Bay.
Construction is underway for the park along the Cape Arago Highway.
The Camps at Coos Bay Lagoon overlooks more than a mile of beachfront and will feature more than 200 camping sites and cabins.
The plans call for an indoor pool and a clubhouse.
Architects say they focused on preserving the natural beauty of the area.
"It's like you're combining the best of a great hotel, comfortable bed and breakfast, a really personal service, the selective serenity of, like, an outdoor campsite that you hike to," said Christian Robert with R&A Architecture & Design.
He says a tentative open date for the RV park is set for spring or summer of next year.
